Our ‘standard’ bullet traps, all started as custom deliverables, including the (portable) ‘Box Trap’ Assembly. The Box Trap began as an engineering concept from the end-user, that ultimately, we delivered as part of a larger range construction project for the US Navy SEALs. Patriot Products detailed the concept and improved the design, fabricated a prototype which was delivered for testing by the end-user. Efficacy of the Box Trap design was confirmed in testing, but we elected to collaborate with the end-user and further improved the design before manufacturing twelve units which were delivered in accordance with the construction project schedule.
The unique attributes of the ‘Box Trap’ Assembly are: an easily relocatable/portable assembly – enabled by integral lift provisions, Safely captures and contains all handgun and long gun rounds up to 7.62mm (.308cal) including 5.56mm/.223cal/M16, impact surfaces (including enclosure assembly) fabricated of AR500 steel, 2” vulcanized rubber front facing (to contain fragments and prevent ricochet), easily sustained and supported via a removable back panel, removable/replaceable (internal) re-directive assembly fabricated of AR500 plate, interior de-energization zone enables projectile and fragment containment, assembly supports pneumatic target actuator mounting in any orientation in (front) aperture with interior protection for target power and control infrastructure.
